چکیده
(Hepatitis is a significant complication of t h e treatment of Hemophilia A with factor Vill concentrates. Chronic liver disease in these patients is infrequently documented in t h e gterature. The results of percutaneous liver biopsy, under gie coverage of glycine-precipitated factor VIII, in six patients with hemophilia A who had the persistence of abnormal liver-function t es t s for a t least 6 months, a re described. Three patients had chronic active hepatitis, and three had chronic persistent hepatitis. No-complications were encountered a s a result of the biopsy procedure. These results suggest that percutaneous liver biopsy should b e considered in patients with hemophilia A with continuously abnormal liver-function tes ts t o establish a histologic diagnosis and t o guide further therapy.

Hemophilia A is a bleeding disorder caused by defective production of factor VIII. The main concern associated with the disease is bleeding, especially after trauma and surgeries. Factor VIII replacement therapy is associated with substantial decrease of bleeding events during surgery. However, there have been a number of reports of thromboemblic events in this situ-ation. The present report de...

Abstract There are some reports about hepatitis B and C Virus infection in hemophiliacs in different part of our country. We studied Guilan Province hemophiliacs to determine the frequency of hepatitis B surface antigen (HbsAg), anti hepatitis C antibody and liver function test impairments. This study was done from Feb to Apr 1999 among hemophiliacs registered in Guilan Hemophilia Society. Pat...

In this paper, we describe the case of recurrent cerebral venous sinus thrombosis in a patient with increased factor VIII activity, lipoprotein (a) level, and leukocytosis. In addition, we discuss the diagnosis of increased factor VIII activity in patients with cerebral venous thrombosis. With regard to therapy, studies need to be done to establish the duration of therapy with phenprocoumon and...
